The Corrosion Begins
Scars of Mirrodin marks a return to a world of twisted metal first seen in 2004. The orginal Mirrodin™ block is one of the most popular and successful in Magic’s history. Scars of Mirrodin will build on some of the themes and mechanics introduced in the original block, and introduce several brand new game mechanics. Expect an integrated player experience unlike any previous Magic set.
Scars of Mirrodin contains 249 black-bordered cards (15 Mythic Rare, 53 rare, 60 uncommon, 101 common, 20 basic lands) and will be available in Boosters, Intro packs, and Fat Packs. The expected contents of a booster is 10 commons, 3 uncommons, 1 basic land, 1 tip/token card, and 1 rare card. A Mythic rare will appear in the rare slot in approximately 1 in every 8 booster packs.
Pre-orders must be placed and paid in full by Sunday, September 25. Prices for Scars of Mirrodin are $94.99 for a Booster Box, $549.99 for a Booster Case, $29.99 for a Fat Pack, and a Special Deal at $159.99 for a Booster Box, Fat Pack and 1 of each Theme Deck. Gold Rare Cards are back for another round, with Gold Series 3! Gold Rares are the shiniest, rarest, and most blinged-out cards you can get. And Gold Series 3 brings some flash and flair to more of your favorite cards. This time around, you can get your hands on Gold Rare versions of cards like Infernity Archfiend, Judgment Dragon, Thunder King Rai-Oh, Plaguespreader Zombie, Blackwing Armor Master, and Blackwing Armed Wing.
As a super-special bonus, Gold Series 3 is the first place you can get a hold of Jack Atlas’ Vice Dragon monster – available for the first time, AND as a Gold Rare! If you’re looking to hop on board the latest and hottest Decks, Gold Series 3 can help get you started.
